About the Position
Our client is looking for an experienced Autobody Estimator to join their collision repair team in Kitchener, Ontario.
The Autobody Estimator is responsible for assessing vehicle damage, preparing accurate repair estimates, working with insurance companies, and helping customers understand the repair process. The successful candidate will have strong collision estimating experience and be comfortable working in a busy, team-oriented shop.

About the Position
Our client is looking for an experienced Autobody Estimator to join their collision repair team in Kitchener, Ontario.
The Autobody Estimator is responsible for assessing vehicle damage, preparing accurate repair estimates, working with insurance companies, and helping customers understand the repair process. The successful candidate will have strong collision estimating experience and be comfortable working in a busy, team-oriented shop.
Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles and accurately assess collision damage
- Prepare complete repair estimates following insurance, OEM, and shop guidelines
- Identify visible and hidden damage related to the claim
- Prepare and submit supplements when additional damage is discovered
- Research and follow OEM repair procedures
- Identify required calibrations and sublet repairs
- Explain vehicle damage, repairs, and expected timelines to customers
- Keep customers updated throughout the repair process
- Maintain accurate information in estimating and shop management systems
- Verify correct vehicle model, trim level, parts, labour rates, and repair procedures
- Source appropriate parts while considering quality, availability, and repair costs
- Work with insurance companies and follow applicable DRP guidelines
- Coordinate with technicians, parts staff, insurance companies, and outside vendors
- Determine whether damaged vehicles are drivable or non-drivable
- Review completed repairs for quality and accuracy
- Maintain complete file documentation, including estimates, supplements, invoices, photos, and supporting documents
- Submit final billing and insurer documentation on time
- Follow up on unsold estimates and work toward an 80%+ estimate closing ratio
- Help the team achieve productivity and gross-profit goals
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of Collision/Autobody Estimating experience
- Strong experience with Mitchell Connect and Audatex
- Experience working with insurance companies and DRP programs
- Strong knowledge of collision repair processes and estimating procedures
- Able to read and follow OEM repair procedures
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Able to manage multiple estimates and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Professional customer-service and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced collision repair environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract
- Able to work on-site Monday through Friday
