Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Autobody General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a busy collision repair facility in Kitchener, Ontario.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands collision repair operations, production, estimating, insurance relationships, customer service and team management. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a productive, profitable and customer-focused operation while ensuring repairs meet established quality and safety standards.

We are seeking an experienced Autobody General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a busy collision repair facility in Kitchener, Ontario.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a productive, profitable and customer-focused operation while ensuring repairs meet established quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the collision repair facility.
- Lead, coach and support technicians, painters, estimators, customer service staff and other shop employees.
- Manage workflow from vehicle intake and estimating through production, quality control and final delivery.
- Monitor repair-cycle times, productivity, efficiency and overall shop performance.
- Ensure vehicles move through the repair process efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Review estimates, supplements and repair plans for accuracy and completeness.
- Work with insurance companies, adjusters and other business partners.
- Monitor sales, gross profit, labour performance, parts performance and operating expenses.
- Help establish and achieve monthly and annual revenue and profitability targets.
- Monitor work-in-progress and identify production bottlenecks before they affect delivery dates.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and address escalated customer concerns professionally.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training and development of employees.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and communicate production expectations and priorities.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels based on shop volume and production requirements.
- Ensure employees follow company policies, health and safety requirements and established repair procedures.
- Promote OEM repair procedures and proper repair methodology.
- Maintain a clean, professional and organized collision repair facility.
- Work closely with ownership or senior management to identify opportunities to improve productivity, profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Previous autobody, collision repair or collision-centre management experience (3-5 years) is required.
- Previous experience as a General Manager, Collision Centre Manager, Body Shop Manager, Production Manager or similar leadership position is preferred.
- Strong understanding of the collision repair process from estimating through final delivery.
- Experience managing employees in a production-driven environment.
- Knowledge of collision estimating, supplements, parts procurement and insurance repair processes.
- Ability to understand and manage key performance indicators, including sales, gross profit, cycle time, productivity and efficiency.
- Strong leadership and team-development skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced collision repair environment.
- Experience with collision estimating and/or management software is considered an asset.
- i-CAR training or certification is considered an asset.
- Ontario 310-B Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer experience or certification is considered an asset but is not required for a management-focused candidate.
- Valid driver's licence.
- $85,000–$110,000 per year.
- Compensation consists of a base salary plus commission.
- Final compensation will depend on experience, collision-industry knowledge, leadership background and demonstrated performance.
