Work Authorization: We’re prioritizing candidates with hands-on payroll experience in British Columbia, Canada. Due to regulatory requirements, we can only consider applicants who have processed full-cycle payroll in BC (ideally across multiple entities).
What you’ll do (Role & Responsibilities)

Payroll Processing: Collect and verify timekeeping, calculate wages/deductions, and process payroll accurately and on schedule (paycheques or EFT).

Data Management: Maintain secure, up-to-date employee records (wages, benefits, taxes, statutory leaves).

Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to federal/provincial legislation; prepare remittances, year-end slips, and statutory reports.

Benefits Administration: Partner with HR to enroll and update benefits; validate premiums and deductions on each run.

Audits & Reconciliations: Support internal/external audits; reconcile payroll GLs, bank files, benefits, and tax remittances to spot and resolve variances.

Communication & Support: Provide warm, timely support to team members and managers; resolve payroll questions while maintaining confidentiality.

What you bring (Must be Proficient in)

Microsoft Office (Intermediate+), especially Excel (lookups, pivots, reconciliations).

Full-cycle payroll for multiple entities (required).

BC payroll experience (required and prioritized).

Payworks experience (a strong asset).

Implementing new software and improving workflows.

Accounting systems with basic accounting fundamentals (GL mapping, accruals).

Payroll knowledge via courses and/or hands-on practice — direct BC processing experience weighs most.
Compensation
The salary range for the Payroll Coordinator is $50,000–$60,000 annually. The final offer will reflect your payroll expertise, scope of multi-entity experience, and overall skills. This range is a guideline and may vary based on qualifications.
