  • 2 yrs automotive service management experience OR;
  • Several years as a Senior Service Writer
  • Involved in hiring and training of all new personnel
  • Monitor workflow in and out of the shop
  • Ensure work is completed on time by maximizing shop efficiency ( i.e. cross training of technicians to broaden their skills); closely monitor workflow to ensure proper coverage is available
  • Reduce comebacks by coaching/aiding technicians to practice good workmanship (“Fix it right the first time”)
  • Work closely with other management to make sure “comebacks” are directed to the proper technician
  • Track & monitor individual technician performance and set action plans to improve (i.e. repeat repairs)
  • Review & monitor technician productivity and sales earnings reports for the entire shop staff on a bi-weekly basis
  • Counsel those who are not producing 100% efficiency by setting goals and constantly monitoring their achievements
  • Maintain morale in the shop by addressing technician concerns
  • Have a good working knowledge of policies and procedures as it pertains to warranty
  • Administers and ensures shop policies are being followed
  • Develop plans for improving shop efficiency and present them to the Service Manager for review
  • Make sure tools and equipment, including facility, are being serviced and maintained properly
  • Be readily available for customer road tests as deemed necessary
  • Any other duties as assigned by management
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills
  • Strong integrity
  • Driver’s license
  • No criminal record
  • Ability to work Monday to Friday (no rotation)
  • Negotiable pay rate based upon experience (Base + Commission)

  • 2 weeks vacation after 1st year
